Behind the Scenes of Open Treasure, Durham Cathedral with the 995 Club

On the 4th and 11th March 2015, Kate Hunter (Durham Cathedral’s Corporate and Trusts Officer) and Sophia Stovall (Durham Cathedral’s Development Officer) took members of the Durham Cathedral 995 Club on a behind-the-scenes tour of the new exhibition spaces being developed for the Cathedral’s Open Treasure project.

Some of the architectural features being uncovered were fantastic, and the tour was well worthwhile, with the group being shown around the massive spaces that will form the layout of the new exhibitions: the exhibitions will form a historical timeline of the Cathedral and will show many of the Cathedral’s treasures, from Anglo-Saxon fabrics to stone sculpture.

An account of Tony Liddell’s experience during the Open Treasure tour can be read on Durham Cathedral’s Open Treasure Blog: Behind the Scenes.
